Old Slowpoke Music, Inc.
was established in 1977 to develop songwriters in Oklahoma.  Our founder was fresh out of college when he worked with J J Cale and Audie Ashworth  to help established J J Cale’s career at Denny Cordell and Leon Russell’s Shelter Records Label.  Audie Ashworth was from Nashville, Tn and was executive vice president of Hubert Long Enterprises and Moss Rose Publishing organization; a premier music publishing and artist management firm of the music city.  In his capacity as executive vice president, Audie directed the placement of song material written by Bill Anderson, Ferlin Husky, David Wilkins, Buck & Marijohn Wilkin, Kris Kristofferson and dozens of other songwriters.  When, Hubert Long died, Audie Ashworth became a vice president of capitol Records, Nashville.  Audie  produced for capitol  and was the A & R administrator, which lead Audie to leave Capitol Records and form Audigram, Inc.  Audiegram, developed into an entertainment complex, which was world renown; within both ASCAP and BMI music circles.  Audigram Songs, publisher of hits of J. J. Cale, Eric Clapton, Lynard Skynard and Writer’s Night Music, which included Kenny Rogers hit of “The Gambler”, written by Don Schlitz.   All this time our Founder was learning from Audie Ashworth and when it was time he founded Old Slowpoke Music, BMI to continue developing songwriters from Oklahoma.

In 1985 our founder placed Ronnie Dunn (Brooks & Dunn) with Audigram, Inc. and while with Audigram the song “Boot Scoot Boogie” was written for a album project by Ronnie Dunn.  Old Slowpoke Music in the 1990’s negotiated with Bob Seger’s manager Punch Andrews for a song “She Can’t Do Anything Wrong” written by Bill Davis and Walt Richmond, which was part of the Old Slowpoke Music Catalogue. Audie Ashworth purchased an interest in the song and became the administrative partner for Old Slowpoke Music and Audigram became a half owner of “She Can’t Do Anything Wrong” on the “Fire Inside” CD released by Bob Seger.  “She Can’t Do anything Wrong” was also recorded by Delbert McClinton, but has not been released.  Recently Audigram, Inc. was sold, after Audie Ashworth’s death, to Evergreen Copyrights and Old Slowpoke Music moves on to work as administrator for songwriters Tim Drummond, Essra Mohawk and discovers new songwriters Jacqueline Fishell, Travis Nelson and Perry Wicker,
